Last week, the Mayor of Murska Sobota, Dr. Aleksander Jevšek, visited Uzhgorod and took part in the Forum “Transcarpathia–the Centre of Europe: the Way of Development and Realization of Potential.” Representing the economic and investment potential of Murska Sobota, he shared the experience of developing regions and municipalities on the example of Slovenia.
During the Forum, the municipality of Murska Sobota and the city council of Tyachev signed a letter of intent. The Ministry of Regional Development, Construction, Housing and Communal Services of Ukraine and the German Society for International Cooperation will act as the partners in future cooperation between the two cities.
Later, at a meeting with the Head of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration Hennadiy Moskal, the Mayor of Murska Sobota discussed prospects for cooperation.
The Forum “Transcarpathia–the Centre of Europe: the Way of Development and Realization of Potential” was held with the assistance of the Transcarpathian Centre for Local Self-Government Development and the Ministry of Regional Development, Construction, Housing and Communal Services. People’s deputies of Ukraine, representatives of the said Ministry, local authorities, unified territorial communities and public organizations of Transcarpathia as well as representatives of various projects and programmes for international technical assistance and expert environment took part in the Forum.
