45 Tourism Clusters Are Created in Russia
Infrastructure is the key pillar of tourism. In the territory of 35 constituent entities of the Russian Federation, 45 investment projects are being implemented on the principles of public-private partnership to create 38 tourism and recreational and seven automobile tourism clusters. The head of the Federal Agency for Tourism, Oleg Safonov, announced this information at a regular meeting of the Federation Council on 16 May.
The total volume of financing for these entities for the entire period of the federal targeted program “On the Development of Domestic Tourism” makes over 120 billion roubles, including 26 billion 700 million roubles from the federal budget, 8 billion roubles from the budgets of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation and 85 billion 500 million roubles from the extra-budgetary sources.
“Until 2018, the final outcome of the federal targeted program “On the Development of Domestic Tourism” should be 607 facilities serving the tourism infrastructure, such as hotels, restaurants, entertainment centres, museum and exhibition complexes, etc. Of these, 266 objects have already been commissioned,” said Safonov.
