The Kayaking Federation of Slovenia Awards a Student of the University of Nova Gorica for High Sport Achievements

Nina Bizjak, a student of the Faculty of Business and Technology from the University of Nova Gorica, was awarded by the Kayaking Federation of Slovenia for her high sport achievements in the 2018 season in the cadet and junior category. The ceremony of awarding the best kayakers and canoeists of the country took place in Ljubljana, on Monday, 3 December 2018, during the traditional Kayaker of the Year event.

In total, 26 athletes received the awards. The Kayaker of the Year title was awarded to Simon Oven, the current world champion in classical white water rafting. The Woman Kayaker of the Year title was awarded to Urša Kragelj, who took the fourth place in the recent World Championships held in Rio de Janeiro. She has silver and bronze medals from several world and European team championships, as well as the gold of the youth world championships.

In addition to these athletes, the Kayaking Federation of Slovenia presented awards for high sport achievements in the 2018 season to Peter Kauzer, Martin Srabotnik, Niko Testen, Benjamin Savšek, Luka Božič, Anže Berčič, Anže Urankar, Nejc Žnidarčič, Vid Debeljak and Blaž Cof. In the cadet and junior category, the awards were presented to Nina Bizjak, Lea Novak, Sara Belingar, Helena Domajnko, Vid Kuder Marušič, Jaka Bernat, Nejc Polenčič, Urh Turnšek, Vid Oštrbenk and Tim Novak.
