A ‘Botanični vrt’ Shopping Centre Is Opened in the University of Maribor

On the Day of Agriculture and Biosystems Faculty, a new entrance to the Botanical Garden and the renovated commercial premises were opened in the University of Maribor. The ribbon was ceremoniously cut by the Rector of the University Prof. Dr. Igor Tičar, the Dean of the Agriculture and Biosystems Faculty, Prof. Dr. Branko Kramberger, and the Mayor of the Hoče-Slivnica Municipality Dr. Marko Soršak.

The improved ‘Botanični vrt’ shopping centre sells the entire range of products from the Pohorski dvor farm and Meranovo wines. It is open from Monday to Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

All products are in-house manufactured. Guests of the renovated centre can buy vegetables grown through organic farming (lettuce, broccoli, cauliflower, green and black radish, tomato), apples (Pinova, Braeburn, Fuji), 100% pumpkin oil, apple cider vinegar, apple juice, buckwheat flour and organic buckwheat, fried pumpkin seeds, dried apples, wines from the Meranovo cellar, strong alcoholic beverages, liqueurs and decorative flowers.

The University of Maribor’s Faculty of Agriculture and Biosystems also supports the local organic food products. Every Saturday, a mini market ‘Pohorska tržnicawhere’ opens in front of the entrance to the Botanical Garden, where visitors can buy local products.
