A Company from Ljubljana to Deal with the External Design of Chinese Yacht
Unielle Yacht Design participates as a subcontractor in the manufacture of a 41-metre vessel with an area of more than 500 sq. m.
A Chinese manufacturer Heysea Yacht is designing a three-deck yacht of premium class for an anonymous customer. A company from Ljubljana is engaged in its external design.
Representatives of the company note that the competition in this area runs mainly between the Italian and English design studios. According to them, the so-called “European design” is second to none in the aesthetics of the luxury vessels construction.
“Although we at first had some problems with the development of the market, we still managed to enter this niche. Orders for ship designing are rare. As a rule, we are talking about an invitation from a shipyard, suggesting the design of a new ship line, cooperation with a trader based on the requirements of a specific market or the wishes of a buyer familiar with the previously implemented project,” a representative of Unielle Yacht Design comments, adding that it is not that easy to get the right to participate in similar projects. As a rule, an enterprise should receive a personal invitation from the general contractor.
One of the largest orders, in which the Ljubljana company participated earlier, is a C-Force yacht by the Italian shipyard Admiral. In 2016, it was presented at the annual Monako Boat Show.
The company also admits that the economic crisis has bypassed the segment of mega-yachts, while a reduction in sales of mini-yachts has been recorded.
