A Cycle of Lectures: How to Change Transport Preferences in Maribor

The Department of Transport Engineering at the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Transportation and Architecture of the University of Maribor seeks to actively contribute to the efforts of the Maribor Municipality to achieve sustainable mobility. These topics are updated annually during the European Mobility Week aimed at encouraging the implementation and promotion of sustainable transport standards at the local level.

The goal of the European Mobility Week campaign is to motivate people to think about new travel options that provide an alternative to cars. It is noted that the majority of trips in Maribor are made by cars, so transport is one of the main sources of air pollution and heavy traffic in the city. Changing mobility habits is of the utmost importance to all residents of the city, and especially to future generations.

In order to increase youth awareness of the consequences of their decisions and the alternative opportunities that the city offers, a course of lectures on How to Change Transport Preferences in Maribor has been prepared. The lectures will be held at the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering and Architecture of the University of Maribor at 17 Smetanova Street, Maribor on Thursday, 19 September 2019, from 10:00 a.m. to 01:30 p.m. Free admission. Registration of participants will be held on the day of the event from 09:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.
