A Professor from the University of Nova Gorica Becomes a Pregl’s Prize Winner

A professor of the University of Nova Gorica, Gvido Bratina, was declared a winner of the Pregl’s Prize for his exceptional achievements in chemistry. The award ceremony took place at the Institute of Chemistry in Ljubljana on Tuesday, 5 June 2018. The solemn event was attended by the President Borut Pahor.

Gvido Bratina is one of the leading scientists studying the electronic, optical and structural properties of thin organic semiconductor layers and two-dimensional materials. In recent years, he has also studied in depth the problem of electric charge transfer by organic semiconductors and the material systems associated with graphene. In addition, Bratina is engaged in characterizing the initial phases of growth of organic semiconductors on graphene and similar two-dimensional materials.
