A Slovene Becomes the Champion of Europe in Pocket Bike Racing

The competition was held in the Czech Republic and Italy. A native of Lucija won the first two stages, and took the second place at the third stage. This brought him the final victory in the overall standings.

Jan Poropat, a moto racer of mini moto class, fought for the title in two stages in the Czech Republic and in three stages in Franciacorta, Italy.

Being a member of the Obala Racing Club of the senior 50 category, he won the first two stages, and finished second at the third stage even despite an unfortunate fall due to a collision with a motorcyclist lagging one circle behind. The final result still brought him the victory in the overall standings.

The second part of the continent’s championship was held in Franciacorta. The most dangerous rival of the Slovenian rider was a Czech Tomaš Zarilo. According to the results of the first two stages, he fell behind by only 0.3 seconds. Poropat managed to retain the advantage over the Czech and the two Italians. The latter showed the best result in Italy, but had an unsuccessful race during the first stage in the Czech Republic.
