A teacher from the Faculty of Economics of the University of Ljubljana, Prof. Dr. Janez Prašnikar, was awarded by the Finance Magazine for special achievements in economics. The award ceremony took place during the Twentieth Business Conference in Portorož organised by the Faculty of Economics of the University of Ljubljana and the Academy of Business Finance.
For years, Janez Prašnikar has headed the organising committee of the Business Conference in Portorož. He is also the author of several articles and books in Economics of Transition and Company Activities. As a researcher, he participates in the Centre for Economic Policy (CEPR) in London and the William Davidson Institute at the University of Michigan.
The Finance Magazine Award is highly valued in the Slovenian economic space. It is presented to individuals and organisations that have made important contributions to the development of the economy and the improvement of the welfare of society. Last year, this award was presented to Igor Akrapovič, the founder of the Akrapovič Company, which sells exhaust systems for motorcycles and cars all over the world.
