Agricultural and Livestock Products Are Falling in Price. Review of prices from manufacturers.
In June 2016, prices from manufacturers were on average more than 6% lower than during the same period last year.
Ljubljana. According to the latest data provided by the State Statistics Service, in June 2016, the prices for agricultural products from manufacturers were on average 6.3% lower than in June last year.
Prices for fruit were on average 13.4% lower and for vegetables — 1.3% lower. Higher than last year were the June prices for wine — on average by 4%, for potatoes — by 15.1%, and for cereals — by 10.3%. Prices for wheat and barley are lower than a year earlier.
Prices for livestock products were on average 7.6% lower than in the same period last year; the products of animal origin became cheaper on average by 14.3%, while the price for milk decreased by 16.7% and for eggs — by almost 2%. The price for pork rose slightly, while prices for beef and poultry were lower than a year earlier.
Comparative studies on the cost of agricultural products showed that in the second quarter of this year, prices were on average 5.9% lower than in the same period last year. Prices for crop products were on average 0.3% lower and for livestock products — 8.2% lower.
