The students of Slovenian law faculties participated in the current 11th in a row RUBIKON Contest. After the preliminary stage, 10 participants became finalists; 2 of them were the representatives of the Law Faculty from the University of Maribor.

The students had to present any (optional) decision of the European Court of Human Rights (Evropskega sodišča za človekove pravice) during 10 minutes.

Then they answered the questions of the commission, which included such members as Dr. Jadranka Sovdat, the deputy head of the Constitutional Court, Dr. Franc Testen, Boris Kobal, the former head of the Constitutional Court, and Rok Dacar, the winner of the last year’s Rubikon Contest.

The Commission assessed the credibility of performance and strength of legal arguments. The winner is a first year student of the Law Faculty of the University of Maribor — Aljoša Polajžar. This is the first time when a first year student wins this Contest.
