Amendments to the Law on Employment of Foreigners in Slovenia Shall Come into Force as of September 01, 2015.
The amendments to the Law on Employment of Foreigners in Slovenia shall come into force as of September 01, 2015.
Under the new law, foreign nationals shall get a single document, which is a unified work and residence permit. Thus, the procedure for obtaining a work permit is simplified, and the Slovenia Residence Permit processing time is reduced.
The legislative amendments have greatly affected the conditions for obtaining a work and residence permit for both a foreign representative (director) of a company and a usual foreigner-employee.
As of September 01, 2015, a foreigner has the right to apply for a unified work permit as a foreign representative of a company (director) under the following conditions:
- It is required for a company that exists for at least 6 months to have fix assets in the amount of €50,000.
- It is required for a company that exists for at least 6 months to have a full-time employee for at list 6 months OR the company’s receipts in the amount of €10,000 per month over the last 6 months prior to application.
! Under current law, it is possible to submit the documents required for obtaining a work permit for a foreign representative (based on the investments in fixed assets in the amount of €22,500) before September 01, 2015.
