An Agreement Is Signed Concerning the Co-financing of the Student Sports Programs

The Student Organization of Slovenia (ŠOS) and the Slovenian University Sports Association (SUSA) signed an agreement on co-financing of the student sports programs on Friday, 8 July 2016. SUSA also introduced the national team of Slovenia, which started yesterday at the European Universiade 2016. The event is held from 11 to 26 July 2016 in Zagreb and Rijeka. A delegation of 226 members representing the four higher educational institutions in Slovenia takes part in this Universiade.

Upon signing the agreement on co-financing of the student sports programs worth 22 thousand euros, the two organizations will be able to ensure the co-financing for all national universiades, which take place under the auspices of SUSA as well as for delegations to be sent to all major international competitions.

The President of SUSA, Prof. Dr. Milan Žvan: “The Student Organization appreciated our efforts in developing student sports and decided to join us on this path. We are very happy to this fact.”

The President of ŠOS, Klemen Balanč: “We are extremely satisfied with the very fact of signing the agreement. We realize that healthy body is a basis for healthy mind and will unite our efforts in this direction.”

After signing the agreement, the national team of Slovenia, which already started yesterday at the European Universiade, was presented.

The European University Sports Association (EUSA) in collaboration with the University Association of Sports in Croatia (HASS) organize the third European Universiade Zagreb-Rijeka 2016, which will be attended by over 5,500 students and accompanying persons representing more than 400 universities from more than 45 countries. The games take place from 11 to 26 July 2016 in two centres of the Croatian higher education — Zagreb and Rijeka. The games opening ceremony will be held in the capital of Croatia — Zagreb, at 9:00 pm on 13 July 2016. It will be broadcast live by the Croatian national television HRT. The closing ceremony will be held in Rijeka on 25 July 2016.
