An Employee of the University of Nova Gorica Is Awarded the Peace Prize

On Monday, 7 October 2019, as part of the Evenings of Slovenian Monothematic Songs dedicated to the writer Luiza Pesjak, the Peace Prize was awarded in the Cankar Centre in Ljubljana. The prize was presented to the actress, director and writer Neda Rusjan Bric, a teacher of scriptwriting and drama at the Academy of Arts of the University of Nova Gorica.

Maja Orel, a graduate student of the Faculty of Humanities at the University of Nova Gorica, wrote about the laureate in her diploma work titled Actuality in the Original Poetry of Neda Rusjan Bric. Maja Orel, together with a PhD student at the University of Nova Gorica, Rok Andres, and a teacher Prof. Dr Katja Mihurko Poniž, nominated Neda Rusjan Bric for the prize.

It should be added that the Women’s Committee of the Slovenian PEN Centre presents the Peace Prize for exceptional achievements in literary creativity.
