An award for the project in development of the newly established Society of Slovenian Animation was received by the Academy’s Master’s degree student, Samo Bihar, and the diploma of honour was presented to Katarina Blažič. A Master’s degree student from the Academy of Fine Arts, Sandra Jovanovska, received the Maribor MFRU Festival award.

Last year, students of the Academy hosted a number of international and local guests. In particular, in October 2018, the Academy’s long-term philanthropist and collaborator, renowned Croatian director Rajko Grlić, became an honorary doctor of the Academy. The Academy was also visited by Želimir Žilnik, Arne Hodalič, French animator Julia Peuget, and Robertina Šebjanič (Art & Science & Technology/Art and Ecology workshop).
