An Exhibition of Works by Students of the Academy of Fine Arts and Design of the University of Ljubljana Is Launched

On Monday, 23 April 2018, an exhibition of works by the second year students of the Bachelor’s degree Illustration programme of the Academy of Fine Arts and Design of the University of Ljubljana under the name of Linhartov Matiček was opened in the foyer of the Small Drama Theatre (Slovene: Mala drama) at 1, Erjavčeva, Ljubljana.

The illustrations of students are based on the comedy by Anton Tomaž Linhart “Ta veseli dan ali Matiček se ženi” (This Happy Day or Matiček Marries). The works were performed by students during the winter semester of the 2017/2018 academic year. Students deeply analysed the text and determined its ideological content, and then showed their artistic understanding of the comedy, more than 200-year-old text of which touches upon the issues that are still relevant today.

The authors of the illustrations are Tjaša Arh, Trina Čuček Meršol, Dunja Derenda, Maja Gorjup, Mariša Jagodič, Živa Oblak, Anamarija Pocrnjič, Žiga Roš, Živa Slabanja, Tjaša Tomc. Research supervisor is assistant professor Suzana Bricelj.

The exhibition is available daily from 24 April to 5 May 2018 and from 1 June to 29 June 2018 from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
