Dušan Senković received a Bachelor’s degree in Medical Rehabilitation at the Medical Faculty of the University of Novi Sad in Serbia and decided to continue his studies. The decision that Slovenia will be the next step in his academic and professional career was influenced primarily by the fact that education in Slovenia is free for Serbian citizens. An expert in education from the 2TM Company Mojca Lamovec streamlined the difficult choice of a suitable study programme. Together they chose the Kinesiology study programme. In an interview with 2TM, Dušan tells about his studies at the University of Primorska, about studying the Slovenian language and student life on the coast.

“Free and high-quality education system,” says Dušan Senković explaining his decision to continue higher education in Slovenia. The student says that he initially thought about continuing his studies at the Physiotherapy study programme, but after receiving all the information from 2ТМ he chose the Kinesiology programme.
“I received a Bachelor’s degree at the Medical Faculty of the University of Novi Sad, the Chair of Medical Rehabilitation. Here, I enrolled in the Kinesiology Master’s degree programme at the University of Primorska in Koper. Things are going great, I am satisfied with the faculty and the attitude of teachers. I especially like the fact that teachers are open to communication, and we are given the opportunity to participate in interesting research as part of our studies,” Dušan describes the first five months of his studies.
Dušan learned about 2TM from the Internet. “They provided me with all the necessary information about studying in Slovenia. It was from them that I learned that studying for Serbian citizens is free, which was of particular importance to me because it means that I don’t need to pay for the contract.” Senković explains that the documents necessary for admission to the faculty in Koper were prepared timely and efficiently. “2ТМ helped me a lot when applying to the faculty in Slovenia. They are punctual, precise, and they have an answer to every client’s question,” Dušan describes the cooperation with 2TM.
For three months, Dušan Senković was studying Slovenian in the Slovenian Society in Novi Sad. However, he admits that upon his arrival in Slovenia, he did not have the proper language level. Nevertheless, according to Dušan, there is no such language that could not be mastered, and Slovenian is not an exception. “The magic of the Slovenian language is that it is similar to Serbian and at the same time different from it. I can say that it is smooth sailing for me. I understand everything. However, there is still a lot of work to be done in communication and correct pronunciation,” Dušan says with a smile and cites the well-known proverb – practice makes perfect. He notes that sometimes it takes him more time to prepare for seminars or exams because he needs to translate or memorise a specific sentence, but now he feels confident.
Dušan lives in Koper with three neighbours. The sea climate is a big advantage for him, except for the time when a strong wind blows. In his free time, he plays basketball. Dušan also communicates a lot with a friend from Novi Sad who works in Koper. He has also met several friends at the faculty. At the same time, the young man admits that he misses his family, his girlfriend and friends. During his studies, Dušan was at home in Novi Sad several times, and his parents visited him in Koper.
“In the near future, I see myself as a wellness centre employee in Slovenia,” the future Master of Kinesiology shares his plans.
