Slovenian educational institutions start to accept applications for admission to the 2019/2020 academic year as early as in February. This article tells how to submit applications and documents to a university or college before the end of the current academic year, explains the advantages of admission during the first (February) round for an applicant and demonstrates benefits of studying exactly in Slovenian educational institutions.

Who Can Study Well in Slovenia

First, let us explain the attractiveness of Slovenian educational institutions for foreign applicants.

Little Slovenia is constantly marked on the top lines of the best of the best rankings as the safest, the most peaceful, the most comfortable for living and raising children country. The modest size of the state is diametrically opposed to its potential, especially in what concerns education. Slovenian universities deservedly occupy worthy places in educational and business rankings. Every year, not only just tourists, but also students from all over the world come here to receive a high quality European education. With a diploma recognized throughout Europe, young people build a successful career or start their own business.

A pleasant surprise for many applicants aimed to receive an education in Europe is the cost of Slovenian education. If compared to the similar study programmes provided by the universities and colleges of the Czech Republic, Austria and other EU countries, studying in Slovenian educational institutions is much cheaper for many reasons. For citizens of Serbia, Macedonia, Montenegro, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, due to the effect of bilateral contracts, education in Slovenia is completely free.

Another fact in favour of Slovenian universities and colleges, which usually surprises and delights applicants, is the lack of entrance exams for the majority of study programmes. The Slovenian education system assumes that applicants will demonstrate their insistence, hard work and initiative in the process of learning, and, perhaps, this is the right way to do.

The First Round Versus the Second Round of Admission: Obvious Advantages

Enrolment in educational institutions of Slovenia is often held in two rounds. However, applicants should not delay in filing applications. The fact is that the first round gives applicants an advantage in the form of freedom of choice. All places in all study programmes of all educational institutions of the country are vacant. Those entering during the second round of admission often have to be enrolled not in the desired study programme, but in the one, which still has some free places.

The procedure of enrolment in Slovenian educational institutions allows the submission of an application in February, while the results of final examinations, as well as a graduation certificate or diploma, can be sent later, in June or July, after their receipt. This means that the applicant, before the end of the academic year, can decide on the place of further education, thereby greatly facilitating his or her life and eliminating unnecessary stress.

How and When to Apply?

It is important to understand that, when moving to study in Slovenia, you will inevitably face related issues concerning the filing of documents, receipt of a residence permit, student life, study of the language, and communication with various authorities. Understanding that the applicants and their families have much more important tasks at this stage of their life, we are ready to provide qualified support, namely:

  1. to provide comprehensive information on studies and life in Slovenia and help finalize the educational institution and the study programme for admission;
  2. to translate, to prepare, and after careful verification, to submit documents to the educational institution chosen by the applicant, observing all procedures and deadlines;
  3. to prepare documents and accompany the student at all stages of obtaining a student residence permit in Slovenia;
  4. to organize suitable language courses so that the student could master the language before the start of the academic year, without solving bureaucratic issues.
