BMW Group is a German multinational company that owns such brands as BMW, Mini and Rolls Royce. It is the world’s leading premium car maker. After nearly two years of integrated selection procedures in the face of stiff international competition, BMW has chosen the TPV Company (Novo Mesto) as the exclusive supplier of the chassis design elements. The start of production is planned in the near future.
According to TPV representatives, chassis components are high-tech products, which have a key influence on driving dynamics. As part of the BMW platform, these components will be installed in more than 6 million vehicles.
The resulting contract, which, among other things, involves a customer service support in markets outside Europe, is a proof of the globalization strategy lead by the TPV Group with a target intervention to the markets of the United States and China.
In the framework of this project, the TPV Company (Novo Mesto) plans to open more than 200 new work places and achieve a significant increase in production capacity, based on smart technology with a high level of automation and robotization.
According to experts, this is the largest individual order in the history of the Slovenian automotive industry. It is an outstanding achievement and a confirmation of the high qualification of the TPV employees. Experts stressed that the TPV Company is becoming one of the key Slovenian exporters and the carrier of globalization in the Slovenian economy.
Last year, income of the TPV Group, an automotive industry supplier with more than 1,200 employees, reached an amount of 153 million euros. Thus, the company demonstrated an almost 10 percent increase in its production capacities. In 2017, the Group invested about 10 million euros in modernization and development. On average, TPV annually allocates 7–8 million euros for these purposes. Besides the TPV Company from Novo Mesto, the TPV Group also includes such subsidiaries as TPV Šumadija, TPV Avto and TPV Prikolice.
