Bob Marley’s Son Sings at the International Overjam Reggae Festival

The event will take place in Sotočje until 19 August. Besides Ky-Mani Marley, such performers as Don Carlos, Freddie McGregor, Alborosie, Richie Spice and Dub Fx will participate at the festival as well.

The event organizers called the first day of the festival as the Early Arrival. Dub FX, who was later joined by Mr. Woodnote (saxophone), opened the festival.

The music programme is held on three stages. A total of about 80 participants are scheduled for 4 days of the festival. The central “Yellow” stage will host the top performers. On the opening day, an Italian musician Alborosie together with Shengen Clan, The Toasters and Slovenian reggae band Raggalution warmed up the guests.

On Thursday, Don Carlos, a co-founder of the Black Uhuru project, will perform at the Overjam Festival together with the Dub Divison Band.

Visitors of the festival will listen to Ky-Mani Marley, Bob Marley’s son, at the end of the working week. On Friday, the Trixstar and Skarra Mucci bands will play their music.

On Saturday, the performances by Richie Spice and a veteran of reggae Freddie McGregor will attract the main attention of all spectators. He will perform at the Overjam Festival together with his sons Chin and Stephan “Di Genius” McGregor as well as with his Big Ship Band.

The “Green” stage is waiting for karaoke fans. The less famous performers occupy the “Red” stage. Besides numerous concerts, the organizers promise a rich daytime cultural and entertainment programme: creative workshops, animation and education programmes.
