Chinese Group Hisense to Build a TV-set Production Plant in Velenje

The Chinese corporation Hisense, the new owner of Gorenje, plans to build a plant for the production of TV sets in Velenje. This will create several hundred new jobs. The planned initial production volume will be 1 million TV sets a year.

This was announced by the Head of Gorenje Franjo Bobinac during his visit to the Mayor of Velenje, Bojan Kontič. The meeting was also attended by Chinese Ambassador Ye Hao with his wife and the Vice President of Gorenje, Executive Vice President of Hisense, Lan Lin.

It should be noted that Gorenje currently has 30 Chinese specialists from Hisense Group, which owns 95% of Gorenje. The cost of one share of the Slovenian company at the end of June this year was 12 EUR.

The Chinese investor, Hisense Group, is one of the world’s largest manufacturers of TVs and household appliances. It is a strategic partner of Gorenje and supports its modernization and production growth.
