Construction of a Water Supply Network to Be Finished in the Suha Krajina Region
Until the summer of 2018, a 152-km-long water pipeline will be built on the territory of five municipalities of the Suha Krajina region. It will solve the problem of drinking water supply to the population. The project’s budget is 36 million euros.
The municipalities of Žužemberk, Dolenjske Toplice, Mirna Peč, Kočevje and Dobrepolje will take part in the project.
A total of 7 pumping stations and 16 reservoirs will be built on their territory. A centralized water supply network will allow providing the population of the municipalities with drinking water of high quality even in the event of failures with water supplies or a long lasting drought. Most of the work has already been completed. It should be noted that earlier residents of the Ajdovska planota villages in the Municipality of Žužemberk used water from domestic wells.
