Cuisine of Slovenia’s Regions: Salty Pie with Onion, Curds, Cheese and Pumpkin

Cooking time – 60 minutes.

Ingredients (for 4 persons)

Shortcrust pastry:

  1. 250 g mixed flour (whole wheat flour with rye or white flour),
  2. 100 g butter,
  3. 0.5 tsp salt,
  4. 2 eggs.


  1. 1 big leek,
  2. ¼ Hokkaido pumpkin,
  3. 150 g Feta cheese,
  4. 100 g fat-free curds (more liquid, without lumps),
  5. 3 eggs.


Use ingredients to prepare the shortcrust pastry of round shape, wrap in foil and put in a refrigerator for half an hour.

Then wash the leek, cut it into slices, fry in olive oil until a persistent smell. Cut the pumpkin into small squares and fry it in the same way. Put all together in a deep plastic bowl, add the rest of the ingredients and mix well to make a homogeneous mass.

Bake for about 40 minutes at 160 ºС.
