Eleven Hotels of Different Price Categories to Appear in Moscow in 2017
According to the Mayor Sobyanin, 18 million tourists will visit Moscow by the end of 2017.
Eleven hotels will be built in the capital of Russia in 2017. The Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin announced this on Thursday, 13 July, after inspecting the new Hilton Garden Inn Hotel on the Verkhnaya Krasnoselskaya Street in the centre of Moscow.
“This year we will deliver 11 hotels. Tourist business is an increasingly important part of the Moscow economy. This year, we expect that the number of tourists will approach 18 million people,” Sobyanin said. He noted that the 2018 FIFA World Cup would become another driver for the development of tourism industry in Moscow. Last year, 17 million tourists visited the capital.
“This project, the Hilton Hotel, is an example of the high-quality investment in the industry,” the mayor said. He thanked the construction investor and the hotel operator for creating another high-quality tourist facility in Moscow. In the last six years, 42 new hotels have been launched in Moscow.
The Hilton Garden Inn Hotel with a total area of 17.6 thousand square metres was built during the 2014–2016 period. The hotel has hosted its first guests on 14 March this year. The total volume of private investment in the construction amounted to three billion roubles, and the planned payback period will not exceed 12 years.
The new hotel is assigned the 4-stars class, there are 292 rooms in it, 16 of which are adapted for people with disabilities. In total, four hotels are currently operating under the Hilton brand in Moscow.
