Ema Klinec and Nika Križnar Are the Medallists of the Ski Jumping World Cup
At the ski jumping competition in Park City (USA), Ema Klinec became the world vice-champion among juniors and youth (U-23), and Nika Križnar won bronze. The winner was the Italian Manuela Malsiner.
After the first series of jumps, Ema Klinec was in the lead with a result of 92 m being ahead of Manuela Malsiner by only 1.5 points. Nika Križnar with the result of 91 m was the third. In the final series of jumps, Nika Križnar jumped on 95.5 meters showing the best result of the day, but Manuel Malsiner managed not only to repeat this result, but also to surpass it by 1.9 points. Ema Klinec demonstrated a result of 93 m and eventually surpassed Križnar by half a point. Other Slovenian athletes, 16-year-old Jerneja Brecl and Katra Komar took the 25th and 26th place, respectively.
In 2008, Katja Požun won the first women award in the individual standings of the world championships for juniors and youth in ski jumping, becoming the third in Zakopane (Poland). Then she repeated her success in 2013 in Liberec (Czech Republic). In 2011, Špela Rogelj won silver in the Estonian Otepaa.
