Employees from the Faculty of Applied Social Studies of the University of Nova Gorica Take Part in the 14th Conference of the European Association of Sociologists

The 14th conference of the European Association of Sociologists on Europe and Beyond: Boundaries, Barriers and Belonging was held from 20 to 23 August 2019 in Manchester, United Kingdom. The main goal of the conference was to consider contemporary events, processes and practices in the context of European and global sociology.

The Faculty of Applied Social Studies from the University of Nova Gorica took an active part in the conference as one of the partners of the Interreg CE 1223 INNO WISEs project with a presentation on social enterprises aimed at integrating disadvantaged social groups in the labour market in the Central European region.

Dr Tea Golob and Prof. Matej Makarovič presented a report in the framework of the RN36 – East and West: Sociology of Transformations section. It is a platform for scientists interested in the problems of social changes with a special emphasis on the countries of Central and Eastern Europe. The topic of their research is the Structural and Semiotic Contexts of Work Integration: Social Enterprises in East-Central Europe.
