Financial Assistance to Needy Slovenian Students

On 17 November, students will celebrate the international Student’s Day. The ‘Študentski tolar’ organization, operating under the auspices of the Student Organization of the University of Ljubljana (ŠOU), plans to announce the tender for material assistance to the socially vulnerable students. To improve the financial status of students, the organization has collected 56 thousand euros for 160 students of higher education institutions and colleges in Ljubljana.

“Since the Government has no possibility of will to take care of the socially disadvantaged students, more than 10 years ago the ŠOU members in Ljubljana have started implementing the long-term humanitarian programs,” the head of the Ljubljana student organization Rok Liković stated. It is worth noting that in 2016 the organization has already allocated 137 thousand euros to assist the socially vulnerable students. As a result of this competition, each candidate will be able to receive 350 euros of non-repayable financial assistance.

Students can apply for participation in the tender until 9 December. To simplify the registration of applications, the ‘Študentski tolar’ organization will prepare an open presentation. It will be held next Monday at 5:00 p.m. in the Student Campus, Auditorium 3. Students can seek help from the organization during the official hours of its operation and through social networks.
