Financial Results of Cinkarna Celje Company for 2016
Income of Cinkarna Celje in 2016 as compared to 2015 increased by 0.5% and amounted to 169.8 million euros. In 2017, the Company plans to receive smaller income — 150.4 million, which is 11% less than a year earlier. The sales volume last year increased by 5%.
The total value of exports of the Slovenian company reached 148.3 million (1% more than in 2015, and 5% higher than the planned amount). The main share was in the markets of Germany (35%), Italy (11%), Turkey (8%), Belgium (7%), Holland (5%), France (4%), as well as of Austria, Serbia, Croatia and Poland (3% each). The remaining share of exports was distributed between the markets of other EU member states, the United States, Eastern Europe, the Middle East and North Africa.
The Company’s net profit in 2016 amounted to 9.8 million euros, which is 43% higher than the previous year’s figure (6.8 million) and 150% higher than the planned figure. At the end of this year, despite the reduction in sales volume due to the closure of the thin sheet hot rolling workshop, it is planned to increase the profit up to 10 million euros.
This year, Cinkarna Celje invests 14.5 million euros (64% more than in 2016) in fixed assets. In addition, 600 thousand euros will be allocated to restore the building of the non-hazardous industrial waste warehouse Bukovžlak.
Today Cinkarna Celje is one of the largest chemical companies in Slovenia and mainly specializes in the production and marketing of titanium dioxide pigment. The Company employs more than 1,000 people. The average annual income is about 150 million euros, with more than 80% of revenue coming from exports to the foreign markets of key partners, that is the countries of Central and Eastern Europe, the Benelux and the United States.
