For the First Time in Its Half-Century History, Brnik Airport Starts Cooperation with German Lufthansa

On Monday, 28 October 2019, a Lufthansa airplane landed in the Brnik Airport for the first time in the airport’s 55-year history. The Lufthansa Group companies will now perform flights between Ljubljana, Frankfurt, Munich, Zurich, and Brussels. In total, the Lufthansa Group provides 3,600 seats on 34 flights per week.

As Permanent Deputy Ambassador of Germany to Slovenia Bernhard Heuer has emphasised, the Lufthansa Group entry in Ljubljana is important not only for the German air carrier and the airport, but also for Slovenia and Germany as a whole since these two countries are closely cooperating in the economic and political spheres.
