Students studying under the programme in General Medicine receive relevant knowledge in theoretical, preclinical and clinical subjects. During practical training, they learn about the basic methods of prevention, diagnosis, and treatment. Upon completion of the common Master’s degree programme, graduates will be qualified in General Medicine and can apply for work as physicians of any specialisation. Training under the General Medicine study programme lasts 6 years. Graduates are awarded the Doctor of Medicine degree, which provides for employment within the European Union as well as worldwide.
Students in their sixth year of studies have an additional opportunity to complete the last academic year in their home country. The Faculty at the University of Slovakia will recognise and credit all academic obligations fulfilled by such students.
The training is completed by passing the State Final Certifying Examination in English.
