Gorizia Style Stew


  1. 0.5 kg onion,
  2. 1 kg beef (neck),
  3. 100 g fat,
  4. 3 tbsp flour,
  5. a tomato,
  6. 10 mL wine,
  7. salt,
  8. pepper.


Fry the chopped onion in fat until golden-brown colour. Add sliced ​​beef and cook until the meat is tender.

If necessary, add hot water and white wine when stewing. When the beef is soft, add a tomato. Fry all the ingredients together.

Add flour, fry all together and pour cold water. Make sure that there are no lumps. Bring the stew to a boil and cook for another 15 minutes over low heat. Serve with corn polenta or salted boiled potatoes.
