Grand Chocolate Festival Is Held in Radovljica

On 17-19 April 2019, the traditional Eighth Chocolate Festival takes place in Radovlitsa (Upper Carniola region) on the Vurnik Square (Vurnikov trg). It presents products from more than 30 manufacturers from across the country. The novelty of this festival is a new chocolate product of pink-purple colour – “Rubin” made of cocoa seeds.

The festival is open daily from 9:00 a.m. to 07:00 p.m. Free admission. The cost of 4 tasting coupons is only 2 EUR.

Guests of the festival will enjoy a rich accompanying entertainment programme – performances of costumed street actors, entertainment for children, archery and other exciting events. In addition, during the festival, 11 concerts of Slovenian pop singers will be held in the local park.

Radovljica, known for its architecture and beautiful landscape of the surrounding villages (especially, Begunje na Gorenjskem), can be reached by bus or train from Ljubljana. Bike rental is recommended for the holidaymakers staying in Bled because Radovljica is located just a few kilometres from the most famous Slovenian resort.

It should be added that, regardless of the weather, the festival ground is always crowded, and the taste of chocolate can give a warm spring smile!
