Harvest Autumn for Slovenian Resorts
According to the Union of Slovenian Natural Resorts, in October and November, foreign tourists made 16.4% more visits and 13.7% more overnight stays than in the same period last year. Local tourists made 1% less arrivals, but at the same time by almost 2% more overnight stays.
Austrian tourists were more likely to visit Slovenia — 11% more than in October–November last year. For comparison, the Italians demonstrated 15% more visits, the Russians — 21%, the Germans — 12%, the Croats — 16%, while the number of Serbian tourists increased especially rapidly — 50% more arrivals than in the same period last year. The guests from these countries showed in total 85% of all overnight stays made by foreign tourists.
The Number of Local and Foreign Visitors Is Growing
In general, the data for the 11 months of this year are rather optimistic: the number of foreign tourists’ arrivals and overnight stays has increased by more than 5%. More than 287,500 visitors from other countries visited Slovenian resorts, who made 1.13 million overnight stays, which is more than 44.4% of the total number of overnight stays.
The number of Slovene travellers has increased by 1% during the reporting period. They made 1.41 million overnight stays, which is 1.6% more as compared to the previous year. In total, the resorts of Slovenia welcomed 645,600 visitors, which is 2.8% more than in the same period last year. The total number of overnight stays reached 2.54 million. This is 3.1% more than in 2015.
