Imports and Exports Increased in June 2016
The coverage of imports by exports amounted to 108.6%.
In June, Slovenia exported goods worth 2.21 billion euros, which is 2.7% more than in June last year. On the other hand, it has imported products worth 2.03 billion euros, which is 2.2% more than last year.
According to the Statistics Office, the final coverage of imports by exports made 108.6%. The surplus in the external exchange of goods amounted to 174.8 million euros and was the highest over the past few months in 2016. This was facilitated by an increase in exports to the countries outside the EU, as well as a decrease in the imports of products from these countries.
The main share of the commodity exchange in Slovenia has traditionally fallen to the EU market. The most important foreign trade partners once again are Germany and Italy. In the EU, Slovenia exported 76.4% of total production, 81.4% of total imports to the country has also fallen within the EU market. The exports amounted to 1.69 billion euros or 2.6% more than in June last year, while imports from the EU reached the amount of 1.66 billion euros, which is 4.1% higher than the last year’s figure.
In the countries outside the EU in June, Slovenia exported goods worth 522 million euros, which is 3% more than in the same month last year. From there, Slovenia imported goods worth 377.8 million euros or 5.3% less than last year.
