Investment Projects for 11 Million Euros Are Implemented in Maribor

The municipality of Maribor plans to implement investment projects for 11 million euros in 2018. As reported in the municipal department of finance, to date, they have managed to receive 45.5% of revenue. The remaining funds are planned to be taken on credit.

Amendments to the municipal budget will be adopted at an extraordinary session on 12 October. The city also plans to make a decision on the improvement of the Mariborski Otok beach in a public-private partnership. It is assumed that the municipality will cover only the costs of the water supply and sewerage network construction. All the rest will be covered by a private partner.

Maribor also intends to use the borrowed funds for repurchasing the Probanka building to transform it into the city library. It is planned to partially improve the Koroška Street, lay two roads in the Tezno industrial zone, repair the western stand of the Ljudski vrt football stadium, and beautify the Drava embankment and the city park.

To implement the majority of these projects, the co-financing by the Government is planned. In view of the new loan amount and a number of other changes, it will be necessary to make changes to the municipal budget, which in 2016 was adopted by local deputies for 2 years ahead.
