Jan Oblak Again Becomes the Best Goalkeeper of the Spain’s Championships

Jan Oblak, the Slovenian national football team’s representative and a member of Atletico Madrid, has received the Zamora award as the best goalkeeper at the solemn event, organized by the Spanish sports magazine Marca. For the second year in a row, the 24-year-old footballer has been awarded for his abilities.

Besides him, other stars of the world of football have received awards, for example, Barcelona’s forward Lionel Messi.

The award is presented to a goalkeeper, who missed the least number of goals for the season and played at least 15 matches. It is named after the famous Spanish goalkeeper of the 1930-ies, Ricardo Zamora. For 29 matches of the last season, Jan Oblak missed 21 goals (an average of 0.72 goals per game). In the season 2015/2016, when he was also named the best, Jan Oblak missed 18 goals in 38 games and with a score of 0.47 goals per match repeated the record of the Spanish Primera División.

This season, he also performs at a high level. After 16 games played, Jan Oblak missed only 7 goals (which is 0.44 goals per game).
