Judoka Tina Trstenjak Wins the Grand Slam Tournament 2017 in Paris
Slovenian judoka Tina Trstenjak became the winner of the Grand Slam tournament in Paris. In the final competition, the current Olympic champion in the category of up to 63 kg defeated French Clarisse Agbegnenou, with whom she had already met in the finals of the Summer Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. Then the Slovene smoked the competition.
On her way to the finals, Tina Trstenjak defeated Mongolian Gankhaich Bold, Briton Lucy Renshall and French Marghaux Pinot. In the finals, she met with the most titled French judoka Clarisse Agbegnenou and beat her with an ippon throw.
Last Saturday, other Slovenian judokas Adrian Gomboc (the category of up to 66 kg) and Matjaž Trbovc (the category of up to 60 kg) won the first meetings, but then failed the re-matches and did not pass the qualifying round.
