Kranj to Plunge into the XIX Century on 8 February

One of the brightest holidays in Kranj is the Day of Culture, which takes place annually on 8 February. The Prešeren Fair is a festival in honour of the Slovenian poet France Prešeren. It immerses the city in a mass celebration of the beginning of the XIX century. In 2017, more than 45 thousand people visited the festival.

It will be possible to have a horse cart ride around the city. A show presenting the love story of France and Julia will be held right on the street.

Free city tours under the name “Kranj in Your Heart” will start at 2:00 pm, 2:30 pm and 3:30 pm. Get-together in front of the Kranj House. During the walk, you will not only get acquainted with the city, but, first of all, visit the old philistine houses and listen to the legends about Prešeren’s life in Kranj.

The old tunnel under the city will be available for visitors from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm (every half an hour).
