Lonely Planet 2018: The Vipava Valley Is One of the Ten Most Beautiful Places in Europe
The world’s largest travel guidebook publisher Lonely Planet has included the Vipava Valley in the list of the top ten tourist destinations in Europe, which are worth visiting this year. The authoritative publication made this recommendation after conducting a voting among its readers and specialists, who were impressed with the Vipava Valley, the beauty of its landscape, splendid local cuisine and excellent wine offerings, cycling tours along the vineyards and a rich programme of sporting events for tourists.
“The Vipava Valley is a gem in the very heart of Europe. This extremely attractive region features an exceptional culinary offer, exciting recreational activities and a fantastic landscape, just west of Ljubljana,” notes Lonely Planet.
It should be noted that, in addition to the Vipava Valley, this year Lonely Planet recommends to visit the Italian province of Emilia-Romagna, the Spanish province of Cantabria, the Dutch province of Friesland, Kosovo, Provence, the Scottish city of Dundee, a small Greek island Koufonisia, the capital of Lithuania Vilnius and Tirana in Albania.
