Major Repairs of the Termalija Family Recreation Centre Is Nearly Over

The Terme Olimija Resort completes the overhaul of the Termalija family recreation centre. This investment project is one of the largest in the history of Slovenian tourism. The total work budget is 10 million euros. In June 2018, it is planned to finish repair work and provide 10 new work places.

An idea of implementing a family recreation project in winter arose five years ago. The author of the project was the architect Milan Tomac from the Ljubljana office of Enota. According to him, the project will create an opportunity for families with small children to have a rest.

The refurbished centre will have a pool with artificial sand, children’s attractions, two toboggans, and a game room. Besides open-air activities, the guests of the centre will be able to visit a mini-cinema, an interactive games room, a ping-pong room, and a maze for children. The centre will also have separate rooms for feeding children and a kitchenette.

The staff of the Terme Olimija Resort is 290 people. Last year, the resort produced about 20 million euros in revenue, which is almost 6% more than in 2016. In total, 330 thousand overnights were registered, which is 4% more than in 2016. The administration of the resort notes that they focus on tourists with a high purchasing power, 60% of the guests are foreigners, mostly Italians. In 2017, the number of tourists from Scandinavian countries and Benelux increased.
