Maribor Students Continue the Tradition of Labour Groups
Students from Maribor follow the good traditions of the labour groups popular during the Yugoslav era at the end of the last century. These groups help residents of disaster-affected communities, elderly people and residents of municipalities that live far from the main transport arteries. As such, for example, in the settlement of Dole pri Litiji (Central Region), students help local residents in the improvement of the ski slopes, the restoration of the church and the cleaning of the surrounding area.
The work involves 50 students aged 20 to 25 years. They are divided into 5-7 groups. Each group works at its site.
It should be noted that youth interest in volunteer work is growing. In particular, this year, the applications for work in labour groups were submitted two months before the admission deadline.
