Miss Sports of Slovenia – a 21-Year-old Athlete from Litija Manca Šepetavc
Manca Šepetavc, a 21-year-old athlete from Litija, became Miss Sports of Slovenia 2017. The second place was taken by Lana Pregelj, a figure skater from Nova Gorica, and the third – by Lara Deu (Ljubljana), an instructor in aerobics and rhythmic gymnastics.
This year the title of Miss Photogenic was presented to the performer of Latin American dances Naja Dolenc (Maribor), and the majority of Internet users voted for karateka Tina Stegel (Postojna).
Twelve athletes participated in the final stage of the contest and presented a joint choreographic project. Then each participant on the stage introduced her kind of sports to the audience. The list of contestants included tennis players Dea Kepic (Šmarje), Klavdija Golija (Domžale), a handball player Lana Križanec (Maribor), a master of freestyle and hip-hop cheer dancing Lara Balič (Nova Gorica), a football player Nika Koprivnikar (Litija), a track and field athlete Tjaša Knez (Ljubljana), and a skier Žaklina Jurkovič (Logatec).
The commission, which included a swimmer and a Paralympian Darko Đurić, a track and field athlete Brigita Langerholc Žager, who recently completed her career, a skater Timotej Lampe Ignjić, a former swimmer Alenka Kejžar, and the Miss Sports of Slovenia 2016 Tjaša Bahovec, gave 50% of the final score.
The remaining half of the total score included points for the exercises performed by the finalists, the Internet voting and the evaluation by the Profil Company based on individual interviews, during which the erudition and communication skills of the participants were checked. As a result of the interviews, Manca Šepetavc, Lara Deu and Žaklina Jurkovič shared the first place.
