National Museum of Ljubljana Invites to the Exhibition “China Through the Eyes of Children”

The National Museum in Ljubljana (Muzejska Street, 1), under the auspices of the Confucius Lecture Hall and the Confucius Institute in Ljubljana, has been hosting the exhibition “China Through the Eyes of Children” since 24 May 2018.

The exhibition features children’s art works created within the Confucius Lecture Hall in Ljubljana lead by its director, sinologist Dr. Tina Ilgo. The works are created by the students of the Trnovo and Koseze basic schools. The two mentioned schools offer an elective course on the Chinese Language and Culture. The works of the exhibition participants reflect the most famous myths and historical images, illustrate the works of art and traditional customs of China.

The exhibition will run until the end of September. Admission is free.

It should be noted that the Jože Plečnik Gymnasium in Ljubljana successfully completed the fifth national contest “Chinese Bridge,” which is the official state contest to check the knowledge of the Chinese language among secondary school students. Participants from all over Slovenia competed in the knowledge of Chinese language, general information about China and its history, as well as in the art of staging an artistic performance with Chinese motifs.
