One Million Tourists Stay Overnight in Bled in 2017

Janez Fajfar, the Mayor of Bled, stresses that 1 million overnights in just one year is a serious achievement. According to him, they did not expect that this indicator would be achieved so quickly.

A Briton James Barrington became the millionth tourist among those who stayed overnight in Bled. The Mayor personally presented a letter of honour to the man who has been coming to rest in Bled for 40 years already. The Briton notes that every year he comes to Bled with his family, because they are always welcome in the “pearl” of Slovenia. As pointed out by Barrington, the locals are hospitable people, and Bled preserves the legacy of the past with dignity.

During the awarding ceremony, Janez Fajfar also said that in 2018 the construction of the northern section of the bypass road would be completed, which would facilitate the passage to Pokljuki. A new parking lot will be launched under the Bled castle, which will substantially relieve the centre of the city. Work will also continue on the construction of the southern section of the bypass road.
