Painters Improve the Nove Fužine Basic School in Ljubljana as Part of a Charity Event

On Friday, 23 November 2018, as part of the Slovenia’s Twentieth Contest of House Painters, painting work was carried out at the Nove Fužine Basic School in Ljubljana. The current ambassador of the action is the Slovenian rapper Zlatko who once studied in this school. The charity event took place from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. During this time, house painters painted approximately 5,000 m² on the ground and first floors of the school building.

Within the framework of this event, the Section of Painters at the Chamber of Crafts and Entrepreneurs of Slovenia also presented the profession of painter to the 8th and 9th graders. The action has been held for several years in a row. Its goal is to attract young people to this profession since there is a lack of specialists in this field. Over the years, more than 1,500 local and foreign painters took part in this campaign.

As for the current action, it included 100 painters, about a third of whom represented foreign countries. The event is also important for pupils of Kranj and Maribor secondary schools, who annually participate in it and gain practical experience. As part of the action, painters have already helped repair a number of schools, kindergartens, maternity clinics and hospitals in various regions of the country.
