    ECTS (European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System) - is an European system for translation and accumulation of points/results. This system was created for recording the academic work of students during an educational programme or course. One academic year corresponds to 60 ECTS points, which is about 1500-1800 study hours.

About the programme

Interesting subjects/courses: Analysis, Physics, Basics of Electrical Engineering, Electrotechnical Materials, Programming for Electrotechnics, Physics of Materials, Measurements in Electrical Engineering, Digital Technology, Basics of Electronics, Signals, Electrical and Electromechanical Transducers, Microcontrollers, System Theory, Digital Structures and Systems and more.

Practical training: In the study programme Electrical engineering, practical training is provided as an independent teaching unit, included in the curriculum of the third year of studies (180 hours). It is carried out in enterprises that cover the field of a certain course of study, in some cases the student can take practical training within the appropriate laboratory at the faculty if he/she is involved in a research and development project co-financed by the company. Students can take practical training after completing lectures and exercises in the third year but also during the period when these obligations are not yet fully completed.

Study modules: The first three semesters are common, and in the fourth, the student can choose one of three modules: Automation and Robotics, Electronics, Power Engineering.

The programme of Electrical engineering (UN) can enrol those who:

have passed the final examination of any full secondary-school programme, the vocational final examination or general final examination.

Employment prospects

Electrical engineer(UN) – specialised in Power Engineering, is qualified for performing the job of design engineer or manager in the field of production, transmission and distribution of electric energy, operation and construction of electrical machinery, system control in energetics, as well as for performing research and development activities, education or acting in managerial functions in economy and non-economy.

Electrical engineer (UN) – specialised in Electronics, is qualified for performing exacting jobs in all branches of electronics and other related fields, as well as for performing research and development activities, education or acting in managerial functions in economy and non-economy.

Electrical engineer (UN) – specialised in Automation and robotics, is qualified for performing a job as an automation designer or manager for robotisation and cybernetisation of all kinds of processes in various branches of industry, energetics and traffic, or for performing research and development activities, education or acting in managerial functions in economy and non-economy.

Electrical engineers are in high demand - a wide range of employment possibilities: Electrical engineer, Electronics engineer, Control and instrumentation engineer, Design engineer, IT consultant, Broadcast engineer, Network engineer, Systems analyst, Aerospace engineer.
