Basic information about the programme

  5. ECTS: 120 credits
    ECTS (European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System) - is an European system for translation and accumulation of points/results. This system was created for recording the academic work of students during an educational programme or course. One academic year corresponds to 60 ECTS points, which is about 1500-1800 study hours.

About the programme

The program Mechanical Engineering prepares specialists in the field of mechanics, automotive industry and automation, instrument making and production management. Competencies obtained in this training program provide knowledge and practice in the field of vehicles, artificial intelligence, robotics, nano- and bio-technologies, materials science, and energy storage. Students study technology, automation, technical terminology in a foreign language - English or German, robotics, enterprise economics, etc.

Particular emphasis is placed on the practical orientation of training, 100 days of practice in production are provided. Lecturers-practitioners are invited to lecture. At the end of the college, the graduates collect their portfolios of design works, which they are able to present to the employer and potential clients.
Having completed the 2-year program of study, one can continue studies in Slovenian or British universities, enrolling in the second or third year of undergraduate program in the engineering programme.

Admission requirements

Admission requirements for the first year of study, completed:

  • - schools with secondary (full) general education, passed the state examination (EGE, VNO, ENT, ENE);
  • - secondary vocational schools (technical schools and colleges);
  • - secondary professional and higher educational institutions, wishing to obtain an additional specialty;


The Slovene Language Certificate is NOT required to enrol on this programme in Slovene. The Slovene language exam to be passed before enrolling in the second year of studies.

For studying in English, IETLS (5.5), TOEFL (46–59) or another equivalent certificate is required.

Employment prospects

Finishing the studies graduates find jobs as engineer-technologists, project managers in international organizations, public sector or start an entrepreneurial career.
