Public Observation of the Mercury Passing in Front of the Sun

The University of Nova Gorica reports that in its region, from 1:20 PM to 8:42 PM on 9 May, people could observe a rare celestial phenomenon — the Mercury planet passing in front of the Sun. The last passage of Mercury was on 8 November 2006, but it was impossible to observe it from the Gorizia region. Next time the Mercury will pass on 11 November 2019.

The public observation was also organized in Ajdovščina, where the Faculty of Natural Sciences of the University of Nova Gorica took part in the event.
