Results of the Second Round of Presidential Elections in Slovenia
The current president of the country Borut Pahor received 47.07% of votes. The Mayor of Kamnik (the central region of Slovenia) Marjan Šarec also enters the second round with 24.97% of votes.
The voter turnout in the presidential elections in Slovenia was record low for all the years of the country’s independence and amounted to only 43.57%. The State Election Commission notes that 5,350 voting ballots were declared invalid.
The results indicate that a second round of the elections will be required to elect the president of the country. It will be held on 12 November. Voters will choose between Borut Pahor and Marjan Šarec.
