Several Skating Rinks to Be Opened for Holidays in Ljubljana

During the Christmas and New Year holidays, several skating rinks will work in the capital of Slovenia. The other day, the Ledena Fantazija skating rink has started working in the Zvezda Park. The skating rink in the Tivoli Park is preparing for the opening. In a few days, another skating rink will open near the central bus station.

The rink in the Zvezda Park with an area of more than 2 thousand square metres can simultaneously accept up to 600 people. This is one of the largest ice rinks in Europe. At guests’ disposal, there are sets of skates and other equipment, a guarded cloakroom and help of a professional instructor in skating. Children under 6 years can skate for free with protective helmets.

The Ledena Fantazija ice rink, according to one of the project authors, Tilena Majnardi, places Ljubljana among the most attractive tourist centres in Europe. The skating rink will work until 7 January.

The Lumpi Drsališče skating rink, which is being prepared for opening in front of the Tivoli sports complex, will open its doors for beginners, more experienced amateurs, and children.

Within a few days, the largest skating rink of the capital will be opened. It is located within the area of the central bus station and railway station. According to the project manager and former professional figure skater Luka Klasinc, the ice complex Ledena Dežela will have an area of 3 thousand square metres and is designed primarily for fans of outdoor activities. It will be decorated with an ice New Year tree.

The ice complex Ledena Dežela will be thematically divided into two fenced areas—hockey and curling. As Luka Klasinc points out, those who wish can play bowling on ice. Lovers of thrill will also find activities to their taste at the rink. They can descend on a 10-metre long ice toboggan. Luka Klasinc believes that the ice complexes with various proposals complement each other and will be of great popularity.
